Our Trail Community consists of many different towns, groups, agencies, businesses and a lot of individuals. While each of them enjoy the trail, they also add to the overall experience that awaits anybody that will come out and idle away some time along this thruway. We hope you can use the resources located on this page to plan your outing, taste our local culture and history - and some really good pie, if you are of a mind to do so. Enjoy!
Community Member Focus
A tremendous degree of the success that the Tunnel Hill Trail has enjoyed thus far has been the direct result of the efforts made by the Illiniois Department of Natural Resources. Without the strategic vision and Tunnel Hill Trail - Under Breeden Trestlemanagement that this agency has provided, we would probably not have the luxury of this trail through our backyards. A big 'Thank you' for all of the hard work, and for focusing it on such a valuable place in the hearts and minds of so many of us. With such a unique park to manage and maintain, these folks deserve special recognition among all Tunnel Hill Trail community members.
Upcoming Trail Community Events

block Spring Community Ride Series - TBA Gather with other trail-types from along the corridor for an informal, fun evening ride.

A Word About Camping

There are no campgrounds immediately on or next to the trail, and regulations do not allow for camping on or along the trail. We live in the middle of a National Forest, though, so there are several nearby camping options. Here are a few of my favorites:
